The enemy wants you to dwell in caves
Psalm 143:3,4 -
For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead. Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed [fail] within me; my heart within me is desolate.
As I went through that 3 day ordeal when I was hospitalized I had a series of visions concerning spiritual state of man and one of them is concerning today's message.
Whenever I used to close my eyes I used to find myself in an underground cave. These caves were very huge and endless, void of light and fresh air. The walls were grayish in color and in some caves the stones were in form of manmade gods. My spirit was just floating in these caves for quite some time but then I realized what I was missing (light and fresh air) so I started pushing myself upwards to find a way out of these caves.
Many of us Christians also live in these caves if not all the time at least for some duration of time. God and His Word is light; His Spirit is the fresh air to our spirit. The enemy does not want us to be strong dwelling in the Light and receiving Fresh Air all the time. He tricks us by hurts, egos, fame and lust, power etc. to retract into these caves void of light and air. In these caves we do not die, we live but a life without life and our spirit weakens and our soul is disillusioned.
This is a reason we need to make sure we have a daily fellowship with the Lord and also with His faithful people. When we have people strong in faith around us, we should consider ourselves blessed, if not we should make sure to move around and connect to other believers but at not stage let ourselves be a cave dweller.
[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord Jesus, You are our Good Shepherd, You lead us to green pastures. You desire we dwell in the open under your light and always renewed by your Spirit. You desire to make us strong feed from your Holy Mountain. Lord we bind the powers that keep us away from You and into dark caves...
This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.
[ Reference Scripture ]
4 Who pluck mallow by the bushes, And broom tree roots for their food.
5 They were driven out from among men, They shouted at them as at a thief.
6 They had to live in the clefts of the valleys, In caves of the earth and the rocks.
7 Among the bushes they brayed, Under the nettles they nestled.
8 They were sons of fools, Yes, sons of vile men; They were scourged from the land.
17 The loftiness of man shall be bowed down, And the haughtiness of men shall be brought low; The LORD alone will be exalted in that day,
18 But the idols He shall utterly abolish.
19 They shall go into the holes of the rocks, And into the caves of the earth, From the terror of the LORD And the glory of His majesty, When He arises to shake the earth mightily.
