There is no good greed and bad greed

John 21:21,22 - Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.

Greed is human nature which has come down to us due to the sinful nature of Adam and is therefore there even in a child just born.

We may have more than what we desired, but if our neighbor, friend or even a family member has more than us then all what we have becomes little.

I would not want to go into what Jesus meant when He said those words about John, but the message for today is the thoughts of Peter and Jesus rebuking Peter.

Peter was chosen to lead the team yet Peter was not satisfied, he wanted what was given unto John. This problem is not only among the worldly but even the heavenly have to deal with this problem.

Greed is the most dangerous of all vices. It was primarily greed which bought Satan who was among the chief of the Angels down unto destruction. Greed opened the door to pride and pride made way to evil tongue and so on.

Having greed for earthly things can easily be detected and corrected. But greed for Heavenly things is very dangerous.

The Bible says we need to desire for Heavenly things but desiring without purpose will destroy us even more than desiring earthly things.

For example we ask the Lord to pour out more and more of His Spirit and His anointing on us, but ask yourself what are we doing or desiring more of the Spirit and anointing for? Everything should have purpose and should bear fruit.

If I have all the anointing and the Power of God in me and I sit at home and do nothing, would not that be a mockery of the Lord? The anointing and Power of God is given to each one for purpose and calling. Therefore if we ask for more, more is expected of us.

It is only when we know the purpose of God in us then only we will know how much to ask. But if we are not revealed this then as we receive we need to make sure we put in use the anointing and Power we receive, this way we have less chances of being 'rich' in oneself.

The Lord had a purpose with Peter and had given unto Peter accordingly, but in John the purpose was different and therefore he was given special.

For people working in the Lord need to get this in their head, others may go ahead of us but what is important is the Body of Christ marching forth. When we are one in Christ (Who overcame all vices) in His purpose, we too will also overcome all which even the powerful Satan could not.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord Jesus, You humbled yourself from the Mountains of Heaven and even lowered Yourself than the Angels, yet You are Holy. You showed us how to overcome and gave us your Spirit, Who helps us to overcome. Lord, get your people rooted into the purpose for them which collectively is your purpose for mankind. Our failure as a body would result in your failure, which You will never let happen. Build your Body stronger and direct It by your Spirit...

We make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.

21 Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?
22 Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.

Ezekiel 28:1-5
1 The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God:
3 Behold, thou art wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that they can hide from thee:
4 With thy wisdom and with thine understanding thou hast gotten thee riches, and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures:
5 By thy great wisdom and by thy traffick hast thou increased thy riches, and thine heart is lifted up because of thy riches:

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
