Your Father and Mother in Heaven

Matthew 5:16 - Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.


When Jesus had to refer to God He used the name Father. There are may names by which God is referred to and when God need to introduce Himself, He did as Mother as well as Father.

You may be surprised as to where did I get this?

When God introduced Himself to Abraham, He introduced Himself as our Shield (protector), Exceeding Reward (our inheritance) and in Genesis 17:1 He called Himself 'El Shaddai'.

El Shaddai is translated as 'Almighty God' or 'Strong Self Sufficient One'. But the literal meaning of this Hebrew word is Strong Breasted One.

God is our Father (originator of life) and Mother (provider of life). Right in the start God took this place which is due to Him alone.

So let is children of our Heavenly God, glorify Him by keeping Him alone in our hearts and by the works that we do, showing unto others whose children we are.

Father God, You alone are our God, our Father and our Mother. From You alone we come and to You alone are we destined to at the end of this world. Lord God You opened a way to show Yourself unto us by your Son our Lord Jesus Christ. Lord Jesus we ask You by your Spirit reveal unto us our Father in Heaven and help us that we may glorify Him is all that we do...

We make this prayer in your mighty Name, Amen.

Genesis 17:1-2
1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.
